DERUTA IN THE RENAISSANCE: PERUGINO'S INFLUENCES ON THE CERAMIC PRODUCTION OF THE BORGO

For the first time in Deruta, within the evocative open space delimited by some of the oldest buildings in the village that characterize Piazza dei Consoli, "Art under the stars" will pay its homage to the figure of the young Perugino

The event "Deruta in the Renaissance: the influences of Perugino on the ceramic production of the village", organized by the Municipality of Deruta and supported by the Perugia Foundation, will take place in the ancient town on August 20, 2022.

The event will begin in the afternoon, with the possibility of free guided tours of the Deruta Regional Museum of Ceramics from 18:00 to 20:00 and will continue with an immersive conference, according to the innovative Archimede Arte Format "Art under the stars" which provides for the projection of very high definition images with the effect of a total involvement on the part of the viewer regarding the topics covered.

The conference will be held by distinguished speakers, such as Professor Francesco Federico Mancini, who will address the report of Perugino with the Deruta community of her time, Professor Cristina Galassi, who will tell the story of dispossession that affected the paintings of the Umbrian master. of the passage of Napoleon's troops and finally Prof. Giulio Busti, who will enchant the public by showing the details of the finest Deruta ceramics inspired by Perugino's painting and preserved at the local museum.

Live Renaissance music will complete the event, helping to create that atmosphere of elegance and grace that Deruta must have had at the time and which, thanks to the precious artefacts that it houses, it still preserves.
