2017 began with a wave of technological renewal and sharing for the Vatican Museums, just as the current pontiff had announced ("the Pope's Museums are open to all"): after the reopening last December of the New Braccio wing - the restyling of the official web portal was completed, which gives users new emotions in front of virtual visits to the rooms.
The new version of www.museivaticani.va allows a complete consultation of the main collections in the form of cards, photos and virtual tours: the portal has been enhanced from the point of view of technological use and available content and the consultation of the cataloging of assets has also been introduced to get an even more precise idea of the heritage content.
The Archimede Arte division of Archimede Srl is proud to have participated in the volumetric, artistic and architectural surveys of different areas of the great papal museum complex (Raphael's rooms, the Pio Clementino Museum, the Gregorian Etruscan Museum, the Chiaramonti Museum, the New Braccio ...) contributing with their work to the collection of infinitesimally small virtual data used for virtual reconstructions at the base of the fascinating 360-degree videos that can be admired by all through the portal that amplifies the desire to visit these wonders in person.
The website is totally redesigned, it hosts 13,000 pages to explore and contents in 5 languages, more than 3,000 images of the historical-cultural heritage: the new portal was created both by the staff of the site's Multimedia office, by the Secretariat for Communication of the Holy See and from the Vatican internet service provider of the Governorate of the Vatican City State.
The Home Page welcomes us with the introduction of the new Director Barbara Jatta who illustrates the collection of artistic treasures contained within the Vatican walls.
To allow the public to enjoy even more fully the authentic wonder of having before their eyes the priceless artistic heritage of the Vatican , the Management has ordered the opening of the new official Youtube channel which already contains about sixty videos collected in intuitive playlists - News, Museums and Collections, Archaeological Areas, Gardens etc. - through which you can comfortably immerse yourself from home in the wonders of art contained in the Vatican Museums.
